Soccer team name generator
Eight names at a time in five styles: classic club names, 191 hand-written puns, fierce animals and weather, dad-joke silly, and local names built around your city or neighborhood and your kit color. Reshuffle until one sticks, save the ones you like, copy it into the registration form, or make a share card for the group chat. Everything is clean enough for a league director.

How to pick a name your league will accept
- Check the length limit first. Limits vary. The North Carolina Youth Soccer Association, for example, allows a specific team name of no more than 18 characters. Rules vary, so check your league's registration form or ask the director before you order jerseys.
- Keep it clean. The City of Moorpark adult soccer handbook has the league director approve every team name before the season and allows no profanity, sexual connotations, or alcohol or drug references. Rules vary, so check yours; every name here is written to pass a rule like that one.
- Skip the exact name of a pro club. Check your league's rules. A play on a famous name usually lands better than a straight copy anyway, and it is easier to find in a schedule.
- Say it out loud. The referee, the scorekeeper and the group chat will use it every week. If it needs explaining, shorten it.

Questions
- How long can a soccer team name be?
- It varies by league. As one example, the North Carolina Youth Soccer Association caps the specific team name at 18 characters in its registration rules. Rules vary, so check your league's registration form or ask the director before you print jerseys. A shorter name also fits a schedule column and a scoreboard.
- Will a funny team name get rejected?
- It can. The City of Moorpark adult soccer handbook, for example, has the league director approve every team name before the season and bars profanity, sexual connotations, and alcohol or drug references. Every name this generator produces is written to clear that bar. Check your league's rules for anything stricter.
- Can I name my team after a pro club?
- Check your league's rules. The templates here echo how clubs are named (United, Athletic, Real, Dynamo) without copying any one club, and a twist on a famous name usually works better than the exact name anyway: it is easier to find in a schedule or a search.
- Do you store my names?
- No. Saved names live in your browser's local storage and never leave your device. We do not store share cards either: the name lives in the link itself and in your browser. No account is needed.
